Summary
The Senior Packaging Engineer will develop new packaging concepts for both existing products and new product launches. The role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure that all project goals are met in terms of cost, quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Design and test packaging solutions for various medical devices.

  • Develop new package designs based on material properties, device design, manufacturing processes, sterilization methods, and end user requirements.

  • Conducts preliminary testing of new package designs using appropriate methodologies such as sealing, leak testing, and bioburden analysis.

  • Provide technical support to operations, purchasing, and other engineering functions.

  • Participate in team meetings, presentations, and process improvement initiatives.

  • Support internal and external audits as needed.

  • Work collaboratively with cross functional teams including Operations, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Purchasing, Marketing, and Sales.

  • Travel may be required (


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field plus five years relevant experience.

  • Experience working with materials used in medical device packaging.

  • Strong knowledge of packaging materials, sterilization methods, and quality systems.

  • Ability to lead and contribute to interdisciplinary teams.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Previous experience working in a GMP environment preferred.
