Job description

We are a growing and progressive third-party (3PL) logistics company located in North America, seeking a Senior Operations Manager to oversee our new facility in Groveport, Ohio. The ideal candidate will contribute to our growth and development, bringing a team-oriented approach with operations and client-facing experience in a 3PL setting.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for directing a team of Supervisors and Team Leaders in executing daily operations and ensuring the effective implementation of inbound and outbound procedures. The manager oversees all daily activities to meet customer delivery commitments and ensures adherence to corporate procedures and policies.

Responsibilities include:

1. Planning and monitoring daily operations
2. Leading, supporting, and coaching Supervisors & Team Leaders
3. Monitoring productivity reports and KPIs
4. Establishing SOPs and processes
5. Collaborating with Human Resources to address employee performance issues
6. Facilitating operational meetings to promote communication and continuous improvement

Qualifications:

• Must have managerial experience, preferably in a warehouse or 3PL environment
• Must hold forklift/reach truck certification
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, as the role is physically demanding
• 3-5 years of experience in logistics and transportation, ideally in a 3PL setting
• Strong working knowledge of WMS/ERP systems
• Understanding of supply chain functions including shipping, receiving, warehousing, and inventory control
• Knowledge of OSHA and health and safety standards
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access)
• Leadership skills and ability to work effectively in team environments
• Highly organized, capable of multitasking and maintaining composure under stress
• Effective communication skills across all organizational levels
