Job summary

SpaceX is recruiting a Sr. Network Edge Engineer for Starlink to design, implement, and optimize interconnection and peering strategies on a global scale.

The role focuses on developing and deploying interconnection infrastructure, peering, transit, caching, and exchange strategies to deliver fast, low-latency internet worldwide. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to automate workflows, analyze routing, and reduce costs while supporting a network spanning terrestrial and orbital

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in network infrastructure (peering, interconnection engineering, backbone architecture).
• Experience with BGP, IP routing & network telemetry.
• Experience with IXPs (Internet exchange point), colocation environments, optical transport, and traffic engineering strategies.

Responsibilities

• Define and develop projects, milestones, and roadmaps; manage scope to deliver directives.
• Lead evaluation of peering and transit opportunities balancing cost, performance and routing control.
• Interact with stakeholders to identify outcomes and improve Peering processes.
• Build and maintain relationships with global peering partners and accelerate execution.
• Design and maintain peering policies, including traffic management, route filtering, redundancy, and failover.
• Collaborate with Starlink teams for seamless peering integration.
• Lead global IX strategy: location selection, capacity planning, onboarding interconnects.
• Automate interconnection workflows: route validation, telemetry, incident response, lifecycle tracking.
