Job summary

SpaceX's Starlink division is seeking a Network Edge Engineer to shape interconnection infrastructure, peering, and transit strategies to deliver low-latency internet worldwide. You will design, deploy, and optimize global interconnection, partnering with partner teams and content providers.

Responsibilities include defining roadmaps, evaluating peering opportunities, building relationships with global peers, and automating interconnection workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in network infrastructure (peering, interconnection engineering, backbone architecture).
• Experience with BGP, IP routing & network telemetry.
• Experience with IXPs, colocation, optical transport and traffic engineering.

Responsibilities

• Define and develop projects, milestones, and maintain roadmaps, delivering on program directives.
• Lead strategic evaluation and analysis of peering & transit opportunities balancing cost, performance, and routing control.
• Interact with stakeholders to identify outcomes and implement improvements to Peering processes.
• Build and maintain technical and commercial relationships with global peering partners.
• Design and maintain peering policies including traffic management and failover strategies.
• Collaborate across Starlink to ensure seamless integration of peering implementation.
• Lead global IX strategy including location selection, capacity planning, and onboarding.
• Automate interconnection workflows including route validation, telemetry, and incident response.
