Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Network Engineer to drive the operation, build, and deployment of the Starlink network worldwide. You will manage interconnections, POPs, and capacity planning, improving reliability and scalability across global deployments.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and provide pre‑sales technical support to Starlink customers, with domestic and global travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering discipline or 2+ years of networking experience.
• 1+ year of networking experience deploying enterprise network solutions or cloud/web-scale networks.
• Experience with deployment of networking hardware (Routers, Modems, Switches, Firewalls).
• Familiarity with Linux production environments.
• Experience with Python or Bash scripting.
• Deep understanding of service provider networks including Ethernet, IPv4, IPv6, MPLS, and routing protocols (BGP/OSPF/ISIS).
• Experience with network health monitoring systems such as Observium, Solarwinds or Nagios.

Responsibilities

• Manage and expand network interconnections, network co-location sites and points of presence (POPs).
• Improve network performance and reliability using system performance metrics, capacity planning, failure detection and remediation.
• Assist in capacity augmentation and network optimization deployments.
• Lead network integration and troubleshooting for Starlink customers.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and network engineers to create or improve Starlink products.
• Support sales teams with technical pre‑sales support during the sales cycle by acting as the Starlink technical subject matter expert.
