Job summary

PacBio is seeking a Sr. Staff Network Engineer to own architecture across enterprise, lab, and data center networks. You’ll drive multi-year roadmaps, design high-throughput paths, and lead network automation and security standards. Collaboration with IT, Security, Engineering, and Manufacturing is essential.

Role requires 10+ years of experience, a BA/BS in a related field, and strong Cisco/Arista/Juniper skills. On-site presence at PacBio locations is expected.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of network engineering experience in multi-site enterprises.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
• Advanced routing and switching with Cisco/Arista/Juniper.
• Experience with data center spine-and-leaf, EVPN-VXLAN, and interconnects.
• Hands-on firewall, VPN, and zero-trust networking experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the multi-year LAN/WAN/SD-WAN and cloud connectivity roadmap.
• Design high-throughput paths from instruments to on-prem and AWS/Azure.
• Lead network standards, routing, DNS, IPAM, and reference designs.
• Own hybrid-cloud networking: Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, VPCs.
• Mentor engineers and communicate risks and investments.
