Job summary

USLA is seeking a Senior Mortgage Loan Processor at our Connersville, IN office. You will support mortgage applicants by preparing and managing documentation, coordinating with title companies, and ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of mortgage processing experience and solid knowledge of FHA/VA/Conventional/USDA loans. This hourly role reports to the Loan Operations Manager and emphasizes accuracy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• 3–5 years mortgage processing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of FHA, VA, Conventional, and USDA loans.
• Minimum age 18.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of mortgage products, processing procedures, and underwriting guidelines.
• Follow Bank policies and department procedures and stay updated on changes.
• Prepare and manage documentation related to mortgage applications, real estate collateral, and insurance policies.
• Handle inquiries and document requests from clients, realtors, and colleagues.
• Coordinate with title companies to prepare final closing disclosures.
• Alert underwriter to missing records or issues in the mortgage process.
• PrepareClosing files and book/fund loans in the core system.
• Meet deadlines and perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain confidentiality per Bank ethics policies.

Position Status:

Hourly – Nonexempt

Reports To:

Loan Operations Manager

Job Summary:

The Senior Mortgage Loan Processor will perform a variety of clerical and technical duties to accurately assist mortgage applicants and clients in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None

Duties/ Responsibilities:

• Maintain knowledge of available mortgage banking products, processing procedures and underwriting guidelines.
• Maintain knowledge of Bank policies and procedures as well as department procedures and assume responsibility for staying aware of any changes.
• Prepares or collects, maintains, organizes, files, records, and manages all documentation related to mortgage applications, real estate collateral, and insurance policies.
• Handles inquiries and document requests from clients, realtors, and colleagues.
• Works with local title companies to prepare final closing disclosure.
• Alerts underwriter or other staff of any missing records, documents, or other irregularities in the mortgage application process.
• Acquires the title insurance policy from the title company at closing.
• Prepares closing files on consumer loans.
• Book and fund loans on banks core system.
• Meet crucial deadlines as requested.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Ensure a position of responsibility and trust by keeping all customer business confidential while adhering to all ethics policies required by the Bank.
