Job Description: Sr. Materials Manager

Type: Direct Hire

Location: Texarkana, TX (Onsite)

Job Summary:

The Senior Manager of Materials for plants is responsible for overseeing all material functions to ensure efficient movement, delivery, planning, and scheduling of materials to meet both internal and external customer needs. This role ensures the accuracy of records, manages key business systems, and drives process improvements to enhance cost efficiency, cycle time, and customer satisfaction.

Principal Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee all material functions, ensuring timely and accurate movement, delivery, planning, and scheduling to meet project and customer requirements. - 30%
  2. Maintain accurate records of all transactions and inventory balances, ensuring compliance with contractual and internal operational standards. Ensure key business systems are operating at optimal accuracy to meet both contractual obligations and internal constraints. - 25%
  3. Manage budgeting and cost control activities to support financial performance goals. - 20%
  4. Lead and implement improvement plans to standardize and enhance material processes across all plant sites, reducing costs, eliminating waste, and improving cycle time, with goals to improve profitability and customer satisfaction. - 15%
  5. Attract, retain, and develop employees by evaluating performance, ensuring alignment with goals and objectives, and fostering professional growth. - 10%
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or Operations/Material Management.
  • 7+ years of experience in material accountability or related field, including materials management, budgeting, logistics, or supply chain operations and change management responsibilities.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Transform customer needs into actionable strategies that drive positive business outcomes.
  • Skilled in influencing, collaborating, and achieving results through teamwork. Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • High level of analytical skills with the ability to identify issues, gather data, analyze information, and develop effective solutions. Capable of making sound decisions based on facts and strategic thinking.
  • Strong understanding of business strategy and ability to align material processes and practices accordingly.
  • Ability to prioritize initiatives that drive operational success.
  • Proven ability in Continuous Improvement to support organizational long-term goals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for talent development, goal setting, and accountability.

Estimated Min Rate: $112,000.00

Estimated Max Rate: $160,000.00
