Job description

Sr Materials Engineer - Neuromodulation

Medtronic is seeking a Sr Materials Engineer - Polymers to join our Core R&D team for Neuromodulation and Pelvic Health. This role is based in Rice Creek, Minnesota, with a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite).

Responsibilities include:

  1. Designing and conducting experiments to evaluate material properties.
  2. Applying principles of chemistry, physics, and material science to develop specifications.
  3. Developing and analyzing material properties and processing parameters.
  4. Researching advanced materials for implantable devices.
  5. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop device components.
  6. Supporting regulatory submissions and biological evaluations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with 2 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Material Science or related fields.
  • Experience with polymer processing, testing, and biomaterials in the medical device industry.
  • Knowledge of biostability, biocompatibility, and relevant standards.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands are typical for office work, including mobility, computer use, and communication with colleagues.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary range: $106,400 - $159,600 USD. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plans, incentive plans, paid time off, and more, with specifics for U.S. employees.
