Job summary

BlueLinx Holdings Inc. is seeking a Material Handler/Forklift Operator to support our distribution center. You will safely load trucks, unload rail cars, and keep work areas clean and organized.

Requirements include one year of forklift/warehouse experience, ability to lift up to 75 lbs, and the ability to read orders and follow directions. We offer a Monday–Friday schedule and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 1 year or more forklift/warehouse experience.
• Ability to proficiently and safely use forklift to transport product, load/unload trucks.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Ability to work independently, at times under pressure.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to read/comprehend sales orders, purchase orders, safety material, etc.
• Detail oriented and organized, basic math skills.
• Safe work record and stable work history.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
• Prepare the paperwork required for distribution and shipping of products.
• Performs daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintains cleanliness and tidiness in working and assigned area.
• Assists in periodic inventory counts as requested.

The fixed rate is $23.55 per hour, but no less than the local minimum wage.
