Job summary

BlueLinx Corporation in Fort Worth, TX, is seeking a Material Handler/Forklift Operator to join our distribution center team. You will operate forklifts, load/unload materials, prepare paperwork for shipping, and assist with inventory counts. The role offers a fixed hourly wage, Monday–Friday schedule, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for growth.

Must have one year of forklift/warehouse experience and a safe work history. Compensation will reflect location and experience.

Qualifications

• One year or recent forklift/warehouse experience.
• Ability to proficiently and safely operate a forklift to transport products.
• Ability to read and interpret sales orders, purchase orders, and safety material.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift in compliance with training and safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
• Prepare paperwork for distribution and shipping of products.
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in working area.
• Assist in periodic inventory counts as requested.

What You'll Do

• Operate forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.

What We're Looking For

• Ability to understand and follow directions
• Ability to work independently at times under pressure
• Ability to handle physical tasks, such as lifting up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to read/comprehend sales orders, purchase orders, safety material, etc.
• Safe work record and stable work history

The fixed rate is XXXX per hour, but no less than the local minimum wage. Actual compensation will depend on factors including experience, qualifications, skills, geographic location, and other job-related considerations.
