Job description

Title: Sr. Manufacturing Engineer

Duration: 11+ months

Location: Plymouth, MN 55442

Position Summary:

Briefly state the main purpose and scope of the position. This position will design and develop manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixtures to meet daily production schedules while enhancing productivity and product quality.

Essential Functions:

1. The bulk of activities will be to support the outsourcing of current client's production assemblies to outside contract manufacturers.
2. Employee will need to work with both the client's manufacturing and supplier to execute transfer activities, including planning, equipment moves, supply chain component transfer, process knowledge transfer, validation support, and continuous improvement activities.
3. Manage projects which include new production equipment, process improvements, and cost reductions while supporting new product introductions.
4. Provide guidance to other engineers and technicians.

Additional responsibilities include:

1. Provide technical mentorship to engineers and technicians.
2. Conduct Process FMEAs and Process Validations, improve product quality, labor efficiency, and throughput through the use of Lean manufacturing concepts.
3. Coordinate the design, procurement, build, and debug of tooling, machinery, and test equipment.
4. Work with Product Development to ensure Design for Manufacturability.
5. The individual should be innovative, resourceful, and work with minimal direction.
6. Have excellent organization, problem-solving, communication, and team leadership skills.
7. Work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Other Duties:

1. Support all Divisional initiatives as identified by divisional management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
