A Day in the Life

The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME) will join the ACM OU OPS team to ensure a seamless transition of new products from R&D to Manufacturing. This role involves collaborating with R&D to understand product designs, developing manufacturing processes with a focus on plastic injection molding, and enhancing line efficiency while managing risks. The AME will implement Operational Excellence tools and be responsible for creating and maintaining BOMs, work instructions, and DMRs.

Role Responsibilities
  • Design manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling.
  • Design the arrangement of machines within plant facilities for optimal efficiency.
  • Define sequences of operations and specify procedures for fabrication of tools and equipment.
  • Adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • Incorporate inspection and test requirements into production plans.
  • Inspect machinery, equipment, and tools to verify efficiency and initiate corrective actions.
  • Develop manufacturing processes applicable to statistical process control.
  • Guide engineering on design concepts and specifications to optimize equipment and techniques.
  • Ensure processes and procedures comply with regulations.
Key Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electromechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience, or 2 years with an advanced degree.
  • Experience with product development, equipment, and process validation.
  • Knowledge of BOMs, DMRs, project management, and statistical techniques.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
Nice to Have
  • Medical device experience, especially with injection molding.
  • Design of experiments, technical writing, and statistical skills.
  • Six Sigma Lean Manufacturing experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
