About the Role:

This position provides manufacturing engineering support for Turbomachinery components manufacturing at Solar Turbines’ Superior Gear facility. Responsibilities include detailed manufacturing planning, process continuous improvement, first article proofing, tooling/fixture design, machine selection, process and quality control, and new product development support. The incumbent collaborates closely with manufacturing engineers, design engineering, operations, quality, supply chain, planning, and facility engineering. As Solar upgrades its ERP and implements MES, the position will support the migration from paper-based processes to online manufacturing plans, standard work, parts tracking, data entry, and quality control, incorporating technologies like mobile CMM, 3D scan inspection, and DPM.

What You Will Do:

• Develop detailed manufacturing plans and process instructions for parts and assemblies.
• Select and design tooling, fixtures, gauges, and develop optical inspection processes.
• Lead quality investigations, resolutions, and continuous improvement using statistical tools like Minitab.
• Support manufacturability in new product development.
• Create inspection and remanufacturing plans for overhaul parts.
• Support quality resolution and improvement in the supply chain.
• Drive continuous process improvement initiatives.
• Define capital needs and procure machines and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
• Willing to support production schedules and work with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in precision components manufacturing, such as turning, milling, grinding, gears, and shafts.
• Six Sigma and Lean process training and project experience.
• Experience with CMM, NDT, solid modeling, CNC control, and NC programming.
• Knowledge of MES systems.

This position is located in Gardena, CA, and does not offer relocation or remote work. Partial relocation assistance may be provided.

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary range: $108,834.00 - $163,252.00. Compensation varies based on experience, skills, and other factors.
