Role Overview:

The Sr Manager, Electrical Project Engineer oversees the electrical systems design for onshore wind, solar, and storage projects in development.

Responsibilities:

1. Design of balance of plant packages during development
2. Support engineering during pre-construction, construction, and turnover to Operations
3. Ensure grid code compliance and interconnection requirements
4. Specify and evaluate major balance of plant electrical equipment
5. Conduct power system modeling and studies
6. Coordinate project engineering topics during construction
7. Manage 3rd party engineering consultants
8. Coordinate with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts throughout the project lifecycle
9. Incorporate health, safety, and environmental protections into designs and standards
10. Support development of electrical engineering standards and processes

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program; advanced degrees may reduce experience requirements
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, including transmission, substation, collection/distribution design, major equipment specification, power system studies, and system protection/control
• Experience in renewable energy projects (wind, solar PV, BESS storage) preferred
• Strong interpersonal and management skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Teams
• Leadership, communication, organization, and multi-tasking skills
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented, with strong problem-solving abilities
• Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with diverse backgrounds
• Detail-oriented with sound business acumen

Work Environment & Compensation:

This position is primarily office-based with travel to other locations. Salary range in Illinois: $132,000 - $200,000 annually. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401(k), and more. Application details and contact information are provided.
