Job description

The Sr IT Operations Specialist will work as a part of the OCIO team to streamline processes and support thelaunch and run of new ways of working.The Sr IT Operations Specialist will be focused on building and operating key models, creating connectivity between systems and processes and running the metrics reporting processes.

This position requires a significant amount of communication and collaboration within IT and with other MKS divisions to ensure timely and accurate operations. The candidate should be highly organized and able to manage and prioritize or reprioritize work as needed.

Strong candidates for this position are detail oriented, highly organized, and results driven. They enjoy learning systems and processes and appreciate the importance of continuous improvement. They are passionate about the methods they employ while remaining open to learning new methods that can increase their productivity.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Labor tracking

  • Partner with technology leadership and HR to maintain one book of record for incoming IT labor associated with the three hiring strategies.
    • Conduct weekly follow ups with leaders to ensure dates and financials are updated
    • Provide finance regular updates as required to ensure company financials provide an accurate picture of IT Labor
  • Maintain labor tracker in a manner that allows for growth of hiring strategies over time including
  • Partner with HR to produce report of total IT population (employees and planned hires) by standard geography and skill type
  • Produce monthly and quarterly reports on hiring metrics including progress versus plan, progress by strategy and progress by role type and geography.

Metrics Reporting

  • Become proficient at using metrics reporting tools and processes under development for the project portfolio and key supplier management.
  • Operate monthly and quarterly metrics reporting by reaching out to data owners, obtaining updates and rendering dashboards.
  • Add data types and sets to dashboards as required
  • Update key meeting schedule using tracker and reach out to metrics producers as dates change

Project and Program Financials and Project Resource Capacity

  • Develop proficiency in project financial and labor capacity trackers built as part of OCIO ways of working.Help data owners operate trackers and make enhancements based on requirements provided by relevant stakeholders.
  • Participate in the transition of .xls based project financial tracking to Service Now based financial and capacity tracking.
  • Supplement tools by building management dashboards and views for program and portfolio governance

Special Projects

  • Advance special projects as required at the request of OCIO
