Job Summary

The Sr. Instructional Tech Specialist assists university faculty and other clients in the design, development, and maintenance of technology-enabled learning experiences. While the primary focus of the position is instructional technology support and course development, a digital media specialization provides complementary expertise that enhances department and university initiatives. Through one-on-one consulting, training, and mentorship, the Sr. Instructional Tech Specialist supports faculty and team members in the effective use of technology to enhance teaching and learning in face-to-face and online environments.

• Assists university faculty and other clients to design, develop, and integrate technology enabled learning in their courses and materials.
• Provides coaching in instructional design, learning management systems, and/or other software necessary to develop and implement courses.
• Develop effective website content, multimedia visual aids and presentations, video demonstrations, e-learning modules, and online courses as needed to train and develop faculty and staff on available technologies for classroom and online teaching and learning.
• Works with upper management to support instructional technology initiatives, troubleshoot, and help resolve technical and operational issues.
• Designs and delivers workshops and provides customer service on supported technologies to ETS instructional designers and trainers, and other members of the instructional community.
• Provides technology support including second level and third level technical support for issues with system application(s).
• Participates and supports departmental projects as they relate to university initiatives.
• Collaborates with other departments as appropriate to support our instructional technology platforms and projects.
• Serves as a liaison to the university community in promoting instructional technology services.
• Partners with faculty to develop and maintain high-quality courses, promote instructional best practices, and leverage technology solutions that enhance efficiency, consistency, and student learning outcomes.
• Establishes and maintains a collaborative relationship with instructors and serves as the source of information in regard to university initiatives and trainings.
• Remains current with media design and creation skills in appropriate technologies.
• Provides guidance on course design, assessment strategies, technology integration, and learning management system implementation.
• Performs essential duties in any emergencies such as hurricanes, storms, and/or any other university emergency closing. The employee is expected to be available to report to work as needed during university emergency closing with appropriate notification of a department administrator.
• Manages departmental efforts to support and participate in or manages projects as they relate to university and departmental initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of experience in a related field or a Master's degree in a related field and two (2) years of experience in a related field.

Desired Qualifications

Familiarity with learning management and content management systems.
