Job description

Our client (a publicly traded company) is looking for an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer (I&C Engineer) to support their manufacturing site in South Carolina. Candidate will be responsible for specification, design, review and verification of control systems, and maintenance of the instrumentation for all plant operations, including field installations and associated control devices. This individual will be responsible for review and verification of engineering on assigned projects to ensure safe, high quality, fit for purpose design in addition to providing consultancy services and studies to company affiliates. Candidate will ensure control/electrical system engineering is aligned with all disciplines, executing the work within budget and on schedule while motivating and managing a team of technicians.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Instrumentation & Controls Engineering.
• 3+ years’ experience working with instrumentation and controls systems in petrochemicals, chemicals, fertilizer, refining, oil or gas industrial environment.
• Operate, install and program DCS and PLC systems.
• Development of process controls execution strategies in conjunction with overall project development team.
• Experience in the development of technical specifications, plans, elevations, section and details.
• Up to date with the latest technical developments, codes and engineering standards in the area of instrumentation and control systems.
• Generating contract specifications including data sheets for process instrumentation and control systems hardware.
• Diagnose and fix system errors, failures, and production downtime.
• Safety and Compliance: Make sure equipment meets industry safety rules and operates without harming workers.
• System Design including choosing appropriate sensors, actuators, and hardware to monitor physical variables like temperature, speed, and pressure.
