The role supports the HRRCs and offers guidance to faculty, staff and students on potential regulatory issues within proposals.

This position also provides administrative support to HRRCs and technical guidance on regulatory matters, helping to ensure ethically and scientifically

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; 7+ years of related experience.
  • Degree above minimum may substitute for experience year-for-year.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's in biomedical sciences; CIP/CRC certifications.
  • Experience preparing IRB submissions and related documents.
  • Familiar with electronic IRB research administration systems.
  • Experience coordinating biomedical human research; proficient in medical terminology.

Position Summary

The UNM HSC Human Research Protections Office is seeking a dynamic, goal-driven individual to join our team as a Senior Human Research Review Analyst. The Human Research Protections Office supports three UNM HSC Human Research Review Committees (HRRCs). The office promotes the safety and protection of individuals involved in human research by providing support, guidance, and education to facilitate ethical and scientifically sound research.

The Senior Human Research Review Analyst is responsible for providing pre-review of human research protocol submissions for compliance with federal regulations and institutional policies prior to submission to the Human Research Review Committee (HRRC), which governs human subject’s research at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. In addition, this position provides administrative support to the HRRCs and technical support and guidance to faculty, staff and students with respect to potential regulatory issues within research proposals.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in biomedical sciences field
  • Professional Certifications such as CIP, CRC

Experience with/in:

  • Preparing applications and other documents for submission to an Institutional Review Board (IRB) or direct experience in IRB Administration
  • Utilizing an electronic IRB research administration system for managing IRB protocols
  • Administering/coordinating biomedical human research

Proficient with/in:

  • Utilizing medical terminology
