The ideal candidate will have 8+ years in Java/Spring Boot, API security expertise, and strong AWS experience. Expect a hands-on role with CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, and Agile mentorship in a fast-paced environment.

Sr. Full Stack Engineer - Onsite, Durham, NC

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable back-end services in Java Spring Boot, focusing on event-driven architecture using Kafka.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, secure API solutions for external and internal use.
• Support cloud deployment and management within AWS, utilizing services like EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, and Aurora Postgres.
• Write clean, scalable code, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior engineers.
• Participate in Agile development processes, including planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Drive continuous improvement in application design, security measures, and development practices.

Must-Have Skills

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, or information systems
• 8+ years of development experience with Java, Spring Boot, and event-based architectures
• Proven expertise in building APIs with authentication, RBAC, SAML/OIDC
• Strong fundamentals in software design, data structures, algorithms, and web services (JSON, XML, REST, SOAP)
• Cloud experience with AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda) and containerization using Docker
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Terraform, and test automation strategies
• Experience working in Agile environments, mentoring team members, and performing code reviews

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Aurora Postgres database development
• Knowledge of brokerage and financial services applications
• Understanding of web security threats and defenses
• Experience with design systems
