Job summary

Moog is seeking a Sr. FPGA Design Engineer for its Space Sector’s Actuation Systems. The role focuses on conceptual design, analysis, development, and testing of complex controls for space applications.

You will capture requirements, develop with VHDL, verify thoroughly, and lead within the FPGA group. Onsite in Elma, NY with eligibility for security clearance. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in VHDL/FPGA, strong analytical skills, and proven technical leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience with VHDL and FPGA designs.
• Self-motivated with strong analytical skills.
• Proven technical leadership in engineering development projects.
• Expertise with VHDL and ModelSim simulator.
• Familiarity with MATLAB Simulink.
• Good debugging, testing, and documentation habits.
• Knowledge of SPI, I2C, RS-422, RS-485, MIL-STD-1553 is a plus.

You will be responsible for the conceptual design, analysis, development, and testing of complex controls systems used on space applications, including requirements capture, design, verification, and test. The ideal candidate for this position is also someone who has an interest in growing into a technical leader within the FPGA group and help define and maintain best practice design and development processes.
