Position Summary:

The Sr. Technician, Extrusion position is responsible for the safe and functional operation of extruders and all downstream equipment. This position will be responsible for developing and improving current processes to manufacture products per customer specifications, and assisting in the development of required tooling and fixtures. The Sr. Technician, Extrusion must perform the duties below to meet production and/or development demands according to established quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and understand order specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Set up machines and other required extrusion equipment according to approved parameters to run orders during assigned shifts.
• Ensure the needed resins are available and properly staged for usage.
• Adjust tooling and processing parameters within approved ranges to produce products that meet specifications.
• Inspect products according to approved methods and standards using approved equipment.
• Collect and package products according to standards and deliver to the next station.
• Observe machine operation to detect defects or malfunctions.
• Measure work-piece dimensions to verify machine accuracy.
• Perform minor maintenance on machines, dies, or workpieces, such as oiling.
• Purge, shut down, and clean equipment as per approved methods.
• Adhere to Cirtec’s values, quality, and safety standards, including QMS, FDA regulations, and other regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to support specifications, prototype fabrication, and transition to manufacturing.
• Support project deliverables to meet metrics.
• Investigate root causes of product and process failures and establish corrective actions.
• Evaluate and recommend alternative manufacturing methods.
• Assist engineering in designing tooling and developing manufacturing procedures.
• Provide process training to operators as needed.
• Update documentation through ECN processes.
• Perform IQ/OQ and validations.
• Train team members and new employees on machines and procedures.
• Ensure department efficiency, quality, safety, and cleanliness.
• Maintain reliable and punctual attendance.

Must Have:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
• 5+ years operating extruders in a medical device environment
• Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of ISO Quality systems and World Class Manufacturing principles
• Ability to communicate effectively in English

The pay range is $42 - 50.00 per hour, with starting pay determined by skills, experience, and other factors. Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels.
