About This Role

The Mainframe Senior Engineer will maintain customer environments, resolve technical issues, and support system migrations and expansions. Candidates should have experience with z Series systems, Virtual Tape, and related networking technologies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Generate reports as requested
2. Support and resolve incidents and problems
3. Install and configure ISV products
4. Assist with hardware upgrades
5. Participate in migration projects with minimal impact
6. Maintain system documentation
7. Support customer migrations to FNTS or remote management
8. Implement new technologies based on team roadmaps
9. Manage software updates and system templates
10. Participate in infrastructure projects as the Mainframe SME
11. Provide after-hours support as needed

The Ideal Candidate

Qualifications:

• Experience as a Mainframe Systems Engineer
• Knowledge of z/OS, JES2, WLM, RACF, CICS, IMS, DB2, MQ Series, and related technologies
• Support experience with DBA and applications
• Networking skills in VTAM, TCP/IP
• Storage management expertise
• Hardware configuration experience
• Familiarity with tape libraries and OS upgrades
• Strong communication skills

Additional Qualifications:

• z/VSE and z/VM concepts
• Hardware familiarity with DS8000, TS7700, tape systems, and mirroring technologies

Compensation

Range: $88,067 - $145,309, with final offer based on experience and skills.
