Job summary

Gildan is a leading apparel manufacturer with brands like Gildan, Hanes, and Champion. We seek an Industrial Engineer to strengthen DC operations through process improvements, cost reductions, and budget support.

You will interface with multiple departments to optimize labor standards and productivity. Ideal candidates hold a BS in IE, 3–5 years of experience, and possess strong MS Office skills, WMS knowledge, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • 3–5 years minimum in Industrial Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for operations and budgets.
  • Maintain labor standards.
  • Collaborate with Manhattan support on system problems.
  • Support safety policies and goals.
  • Seek cost reductions through process improvements, layout changes, and equipment enhancements.
  • Assist management in achieving quality and productivity goals.
  • Support day‑to‑day problem resolution to facilitate business growth.
  • Provide finance with process costing, special project labor/equipment costing, and annual budget planning.

Opportunity

Support Gildan’s DC Operations by increasing efficiency through process improvements while reducing cost.

The Role
  • Provide engineering support for operations and capital expenditure budgets.
  • Maintain labor standards.
  • Collaborate with Manhattan support on system problems.
  • Support safety policies and goals.
  • Seek short‑and‑long‑term cost reduction through process improvements, workplace and equipment enhancements, and layout changes.
  • Assist management in achieving quality and productivity goals.
  • Support operations in day‑to‑day problem resolution to facilitate business growth.
  • Provide finance with process costing, special project labor/equipment costing, and annual budget planning.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • 3–5 years minimum in Industrial Engineering.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Leadership.
  • Delegation of duties as needed to ensure objectives are met.
  • Communication with customers and multiple departments both written and oral.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Data entry.
  • Proficiency in Industrial Engineering and Distribution functions.
  • General knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Excellent computer (MS Office) and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of time study, pre‑determined time systems, and incentive standards development.

  • Expected to work independently, evaluate alternatives, and make appropriate recommendations to management while achieving company expectations.
Leadership, Planning, and Organizing
  • Required to integrate several operational activities and resolve inherent conflicts.
  • Manages and optimizes the use of resources.
