Job summary

Gildan is seeking a Distribution Supervisor to lead material handlers, equipment operators, and team leaders in a high-volume distribution environment. The role focuses on maximizing order flow, inventory accuracy, and processing standards within the Sales Marketing and Distribution Team.

The position requires a High School Diploma with 5+ years in distribution, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and experience with warehouse management systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma plus 5+ years in distribution or warehouse supervision.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Experience with a Warehouse Management System (e.g., WM Manhattan, SAP WM).
• Ability to work in a team-based environment.
• Experience in manufacturing supplying products to Retail Customers preferred.
• Professional written and verbal communication.
• Confidentiality and data security awareness.
• Vision and hearing to read data, interpret instructions and safety warnings.

Responsibilities

• Supports daily distribution demands in receiving, order processing, and/or shipping by assisting with resource allocation, workflow organization and order prioritization.
• Monitors workflow, space and supply constraints. Offers suggestions and implementation processes that will ensure efficient flow of product through area(s) of responsibility.
• Maintains accurate operational and inventory reports as required/requested by the management team.
• Direct associates and their work activities to ensure optimum efficiency within the defined scope of operation.
• Monitors associate performance daily and communicates information regarding goals, responsibilities, policies, procedures and areas for improvement. Initiates corrective action as needed.
• Maintains teams work schedule, associate time-off requests, attendance and timekeeping records, and approves time for payroll processing for all associates within their scope of responsibility.
• Ensures safety and housekeeping duties are followed in assigned areas.
• Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

The opportunity

The requirements

• High School Diploma + Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
• Experience with a Warehouse Management System preferred (i.e. WM Manhattan, PkMS, Oracle WM, SAP WM, RP)
• Ability to work in a team-based environment
• Experience within a manufacturing company supplying product to Retail Customers preferred
• Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and written
• Must maintain confidentiality in regards to sensitive information
• Vision is required in order to read instructions, interpret data and formulate metrics
• Hearing is required in order to hear instructions, receive information, and understand safety warnings
