Job summary

Ally Financial in Detroit, MI is hiring for a software engineer to join our AI platform teams Logos and Lightspeed. You will write production code, extend agent types, and build production pipelines that run in enterprise environments, integrating with Jira, Confluence, and Dynatrace.

You should be comfortable with Python and TypeScript, understand REST APIs, and contribute to CI/CD, testing, and reliability gates.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant experience in software development.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience reading unfamiliar codebases and extending them without breaking existing work.

Responsibilities

• Develop enterprise-grade AI agent systems and production pipelines.
• Extend the agent manifest with new specialist agent types and fair handoff protocols.
• Integrate with Jira, Confluence, and Dynatrace for lifecycle and observability.
• Write Python and TypeScript automation scripts and maintain CI/CD gates.
• Improve coverage, vulnerability scanning, and reliability gates for PoCs.

Your primary focus is two programs: Logos, our AI platform initiative, and Lightspeed, a portfolio of 29+ PoCs spanning AI/ML automation, business process modernization, cloud infrastructure re-engineering, and specialized platform tooling. Both programs are active and shipping.The foundational work centers on the agent knowledge core — the structured manifest of agent types, behavioral rules, coding standards, discovery protocols, and domain context that makes our AI agents reliable, consistent, and governable at enterprise scale. You will extend this system, add new agent types, and build the production pipelines that put agents to work in real workflows.This is not a role for someone who wants to prompt-tune existing tools.
