Duration: Full time
Professional Engineer (PE): Required
About the Role

We are seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer - Data Center Infrastructure to lead the design, development, deployment, and commissioning of power distribution systems for high-density data center solutions across multiple concurrent programs. This role owns electrical engineering for site level data center deployments such as power distribution, medium and low voltage systems, switchgear, UPS, generators, transformers and equipment integration and serves as the senior technical authority setting design standards across the portfolio. The ideal candidate has deep, hands-on experience with mission-critical facilities and the electrical requirements of high-density AI/GPU infrastructure, holds a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering, and is comfortable directing design work, mentoring engineers, and representing engineering in customer and executive discussions. The engineer will work closely with internal product, mechanical, engineering, project management, construction, and operations teams, as well as act as primary lead in engaging external engineering firms, contractors, equipment manufacturers, utilities, and customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead electrical engineering activities for high-density data center infrastructure across multiple concurrent programs.
  • Own and continually set electrical design standards, specifications, and calculation methodologies used across the portfolio.
  • Develop and give final review/sign-off on electrical designs, one-line diagrams, drawings, specifications, calculations, equipment schedules, and engineering documentation.
  • Design and validate power distribution architecture for traditional and high-density AI/GPU environments, including utility service, medium voltage switchgear, transformers, low voltage switchgear, PDUs, busway, UPS, generators, and ATS/STS.
  • Direct load calculations, short-circuit studies, arc flash hazard analysis, protective device coordination, and voltage drop calculations.
  • Develop standardized electrical system concepts and basis of design including redundancy configurations (N, N+1, 2N) and distribution topology and set direction for future-facing power strategy.
  • Review switchgear layouts, cable routing, grounding/bonding, equipment placement, and service clearances.
  • Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, structural, architectural, controls/BMS, fire protection, and infrastructure teams.
  • Direct electrical integration between prefabricated/ modular equipment (skids, e-houses) and site infrastructure.
  • Develop and give final review of electrical site plans, one-lines, riser diagrams, panel schedules, and installation details.
  • Review vendor and manufacturer drawings, submittals, technical specifications, and equipment selections (switchgear, UPS, generators, transformers); drive equipment and vendor strategy.
  • Lead design reviews including 30%, 60%, 90%, IFC and construction drawing reviews.
  • Identify design conflicts, constructability issues, capacity constraints, and technical risks before construction, and drive resolution.
  • Direct development of Bills of Materials (BOMs), equipment specifications, scopes of work, and technical procurement packages.
  • Work with suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure equipment and assemblies meet engineering requirements.
  • Review and adjudicate contractor technical RFIs, submittals, change orders, and field modifications.
  • Conduct site visits and field inspections as required, including witness testing of switchgear, UPS, and generators, to verify installation quality and conformance with design requirements.
  • Lead utility interconnection coordination and ensure designs comply with NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEEstandards, applicable building/energy codes, and local utility requirements.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to electrical engineers supporting individual programs.
  • Represent electrical engineering in customer meetings and executive design reviews.
