Job summary

Insight Global in Sioux Falls, SD, is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a growing consulting firm serving agricultural and industrial clients. You will provide electrical design, power distribution, grounding, and data systems, and develop AutoCAD and Revit drawings.

Candidates should hold a BSEE, have 8+ years in the field, a valid P.E. license, and be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Qualifications

• BSEE required.
• 8+ years experience in agricultural and industrial sectors or Power Distribution.
• Active P.E. license.
• Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical engineering design services for agricultural and industrial clients including power distribution design, grounding, and data systems.
• Develop AutoCAD and Revit drawings of electrical systems with internal designers and drafters.
• Develop motor and field instrument schedules based on PFDs and P&ID’s.
• Perform arc flash and coordination studies for electrical distribution systems.
• Attend continuing education courses; CE credits paid by MEI.

Design Responsibilities:

• Provide electrical engineering design services to Agricultural and Industrial Clients including – power distribution design, grounding and underground, lighting system design, motor controls & automation, and data system design.
• Develop AutoCAD and Revit drawings of electrical systems described above with the assistance of internal designers and drafters.
• Develop motor and field instrument schedules based on information provided on PFD’s and P&ID’s
• Perform arc flash and coordination studies for electrical distribution systems.
• Attend continuing education courses to keep up with the industry trends – continued education is paid by MEI.

Skills and Requirements

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
• 8+ years of experience in the agricultural and industrial sectors or Power Distribution
• Active P.E. License
• Eligible to work in the United States without Visa sponsorship

Knowledge & Skills:

• Working knowledge of the following computer software packages: Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, OneNote)
• Willingness to learn and use arc flash and electrical system coordination software packages: SKM or ETAP
• Working knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC)
• Experience in design of electrical systems for agricultural and industrial facilities is preferred
