Job summary

Sigma Earth is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) leader to drive safety outcomes across manufacturing operations. You will lead initiatives, mentor teams, and partner with production to translate policy into practical controls.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as an EHS professional in manufacturing or high-risk industries.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, or equivalent.
  • Experience in EHS program development and workforce training.
  • Knowledge of hazard analysis techniques and OSHA compliance.
  • Experience with incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Familiarity with ergonomics, machine safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.

What You’ll Do
  • Drive Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) outcomes across one or more manufacturing departments by leading initiatives and engaging employees in alignment with business and EHS strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with factory and production stakeholders to ensure that operational and process changes improve controls over health, safety, and environmental risks.
  • Conduct audits and inspections, document findings, and ensure timely closure and verification of corrective actions.
  • Analyze incident and safety trends using risk assessment methodologies to identify continuous improvement opportunities that reduce injuries, illnesses, and environmental impacts.
  • Lead investigations using a Learning Teams approach, ensuring strong worker participation and focusing on systemic root causes rather than individual errors.
  • Participate in pre-job planning activities and verify that all controls and safeguards are in place before executing new, high-risk, or non-standard tasks.
  • Partner with specialized EHS functions (such as Environmental, Construction Safety, Equipment Safety, EHS Systems, and Training teams) to ensure effective implementation of safety programs and solutions.
What You’ll Bring
  • 5+ years of experience as an EHS professional, preferably in manufacturing, oil & gas, construction, or similar high-risk industries.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience in EHS program development, workforce training, and driving behavioral and organizational change through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong knowledge of hazard analysis techniques, hazard communication standards, powered industrial vehicle safety, OSHA compliance, incident investigation, and corrective action management.
  • Familiarity with industrial hygiene practices, ergonomics, machine safety, and environmental compliance processes.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure while managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
