Sigma Earth is seeking an EHS professional to lead inspections, risk assessments, and training across high-risk operations. You will partner with multiple safety disciplines to implement safeguards and drive continuous improvement. Strong regulatory knowledge and hands-on risk reduction experience are essential.

The role emphasizes incident learning, KPI tracking, and comprehensive EHS program development to ensure site-wide compliance and safe operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, mining, heavy chemical industries, oil & gas, construction, or similar high-risk environments.
  • Experience supporting EHS program development, delivering training across all organizational levels, and driving behavior and process change to reduce risk.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Hazard Communication, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space Entry, Electrical Safety, Working at Heights, Powered Industrial Vehicles, Ergonomics, and Equipment Safety.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure while managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify hazards and document corrective actions.
  • Participate in pre-job safety reviews for high-risk activities.
  • Review Pre-Task Plans to ensure alignment with field execution requirements.
  • Collaborate with EHS teams to assess risks and ensure safeguards are implemented.
  • Support incident learning by identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
  • Assist in tracking, analyzing, and reporting EHS performance metrics and KPIs.
  • Ensure implementation of EHS Management System elements and develop procedures, inspections, training, or reports.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NIOSH, DOT, EPA and other regulators.

Job description

What You’ll Do
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify potential hazards, unsafe conditions, and compliance gaps, and document findings with clear corrective action recommendations.
  • Participate in pre-job safety reviews for high-risk activities such as critical lifts, confined space entry, high-voltage work, pressure testing, and fall protection tasks.
  • Review Pre-Task Plans to ensure that job steps, hazards, and mitigation controls are properly aligned with field execution requirements.
  • Collaborate with specialized EHS teams (Industrial Hygiene, Construction Safety, Environmental, Ergonomics, Electrical Safety, Equipment Safety, Process Safety, etc.) to assess unique operational risks and ensure appropriate safeguards are implemented and verified.
  • Support incident learning processes by identifying root causes and recommending corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence.
  • Assist in tracking, analyzing, and reporting EHS performance metrics and evaluating results against key performance indicators (KPIs) to support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Ensure effective implementation of EHS Management System elements across operations, and develop new procedures, inspections, training programs, or reports as required.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable regulations and standards including OSHA, NFPA, NIOSH, DOT, EPA, and other relevant regulatory bodies.
What You’ll Bring
