Job summary

Sigma Earth is seeking an experienced EHS professional to lead safety initiatives on the plant floor, working with production staff and leaders to protect workers and the environment.

You will analyze incident trends, perform hazard analyses, and help develop SOPs while driving continuous improvement and compliance with OSHA and federal regulations. This role emphasizes teamwork and proactive safety leadership.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an EHS professional.
  • Experience in manufacturing/oil & gas/construction industries.
  • Experience developing EHS programs and training employees.
  • Knowledge of hazard analysis techniques, hazard communication, OSHA compliance, incident investigation and corrective action management.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a strong on-the-floor presence by engaging with material handlers, production staff, leaders, and key stakeholders to embed a safety-first culture into daily operations.
  • Lead event follow-ups using a Learning Teams approach, ensuring worker participation and focusing on identifying system-level root causes rather than individual behavior alone.
  • Analyze incident trends and apply risk assessment techniques to identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce injuries, illnesses, and environmental incidents.
  • Participate in pre-job planning activities and verify that safety controls and safeguards are in place before high-risk, new, or non-standard tasks begin.
  • Conduct Job/Task Hazard Analyses and support the development and review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), identifying potential safety gaps and improvements.
  • Perform audits and inspections, document findings, and track corrective actions through to closure.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and programs while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Bring
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an EHS professional (EHS Technician, Specialist, or Coordinator), preferably in manufacturing, oil & gas, construction, or similar industries.
  • Experience supporting EHS program development and implementation, including training employees at all levels and driving behavioral and operational change to reduce risk.
  • Strong knowledge of hazard analysis techniques, hazard communication, powered industrial vehicle safety, OSHA compliance, incident investigation, and corrective action management.
  • Experience with DOT safety compliance and warehousing safety is preferred.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, collaboration, and customer service skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
