Job summary

Victaulic is seeking a Senior EHS Specialist to lead environmental, health, and safety programs at our Rock Island, TN site. You will work with operations, maintenance, engineering, and HR to ensure regulatory compliance, improve risk controls, and engage employees in proactive hazard identification.

You will develop written EHS programs, conduct audits, lead incident investigations, and drive continuous improvement across safety, health, and environmental initiatives on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science or related field.
• 6+ years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing or heavy industrial settings.
• Experience leading EHS programs, investigations, audits, and CAPA management.

Responsibilities

• Lead site EHS programs and ensure regulatory compliance across shifts.
• Conduct incident investigations and root-cause analyses to implement corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain EHS procedures, training materials, and audits.
• Coordinate training on LOTO, hazard communication, PPE, and emergency response.

In this role, you'll serve as a key resource for operations, maintenance, engineering, human resources, occupational health, and site leadership, ensuring regulatory compliance, reducing risk, and strengthening employee engagement in proactive hazard identification. You'll operate with a high degree of independence, providing technical guidance to the site while leading incident investigations and program audits. This is an opportunity to drive continuous improvement across safety, health, environmental, and compliance initiatives at a hands-on, site-facing level.WHAT YOU'LL BUILD & OWNEHS Program LeadershipLead day-to-day execution of site EHS programs, ensuring requirements are current, documented, communicated, and consistently applied across all shifts and work areasDevelop, maintain, and improve written EHS programs, procedures, JSAs, inspections, and training materials to address site-specific hazards and regulatory requirementsPartner with site leadership to build accountability for safe work practices, timely corrective action closure, and proactive risk reductionOversee the site EHS budget to support compliance, training, PPE, corrective actions, emergency preparedness, and risk-reduction prioritiesIncident Management & Risk ReductionLead incident, near-miss, first-aid, and hazard investigations using root cause methodology; ensure corrective and preventive actions address systemic causesClassify and escalate serious injury and fatality potential events, significant hazards, and compliance concerns in alignment with EHS expectationsAnalyze incident trends, audit findings, near misses, and exposure data to identify risk patterns, recommend practical controls, and incorporate opportunities for coachingInspections, Audits & Regulatory CompliancePlan and conduct routine safety walkthroughs, program audits, regulatory self-assessments, and compliance inspections;
