Summary:

Under general direction of the Vice President, Technology Solutions, the Sr. Director, Technical Administration is responsible for all technical administration from a project and production support standpoint across all systems that support Cencora Distribution Services, Patient Services, and/or Corporate functions that relate to the core area of responsibility in the area of SAP Applications (S/4HANA, PO, Fiori, Solution Manager, BTP, LVM, HANA Cockpit, SLT, DS/IS, SAP Data Intelligence/DataSphere, Cloud Connector and HANA DB) and 3rd party Applications such as Opentext Exstream and Archive Center, Vertex, Vendavo, Redwood RunMyJobs, Apache Tomcat, NGINX/Squid forward/reverse proxy. This role oversees a team that provides primary level 2 and level 3 support for all identified IT applications as well as charged with creating up to date technology roadmaps that help drive future direction of the EITS organization in their area of expertise.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all SAP Basis issues related to the SAP environment in Architecture, Infrastructure, App deployment and support.

  • Works with internal and external customers to understand business needs.

  • Contributes to the development of an IT strategy. Manages the development and implementation of IT initiatives to support business strategy.

  • Manages delivery and lifecycle of services for business strategy development.

  • Analyzes financial and internal customer analysis, Participates in the development of IT budgets.

  • Seeks opportunities to contribute to positive outcomes for clients, stakeholders, and organizational members.

  • Approaches issues or disagreements with the objective of reaching win/win solutions.

  • Provides input into demand management process.

  • Ensures compliance with enterprise standards, governance processes, and performance metrics to ensure IT delivers value to the enterprise.

  • Plans, evaluates, and improves the efficiency of business processes and procedures to enhance speed, quality, efficiency, and output.

  • Identifies opportunities for process and service improvements and implements them

  • Ensures efficient customer service to internal clients and external vendors and maintains long term relationship

  • Develops and implements technologies/ processes to improve the performance of a business process and increase profitability.

  • Ensures internal SLAs are met.

  • Supports an environment of open and upward communication with all staff to ensure positive employee morale, effective conflict resolution and upward flow of creative ideas for the benefit of the Company and its employees.

  • Establishes measurable individual and team objectives that are aligned with business and organizational goals.

  • Documents and presents performance assessments.

  • Recognizes and rewards associates commensurate with performance.

  • Implements organizational practices for staffing, EEO, diversity, performance management, career development, training, reward and recognition, and retention.

  • Provides input to the identification and development of potential future leaders.

  • End to End deployment of SAP workloads and other Enterprise solutions in On-Prem and Public clouds such as Azure, Migration of SAP applications from On-Prem to Cloud

  • Will work closely with Platform Engineering, Cloud architects, Cloud engineering, Cloud operations, Automation, Infosec and other infrastructure teams for deployment and support of Cloud resources, troubleshoot and resolve problems.

  • Interface with the Platform Engineering and SAP Basis teams to effectively design and enhance solutions and manage the SAP and 3rd party applications workload.

  • Actively manage the performance of the SAP landscape, including capacity planning and tuning.

  • Interface with the Enterprise Architecture and Infosec teams to follow certain company and industry specific standards.

  • Keeps abreast of new developments and forecasts of future trends in the areas of SAP technology.

  • Coordinate with other Basis product leads to ensure software consistency across the SAP landscape.

  • Will participate in the IT Change Management process and validate/approval all SAP related changes.

  • Engage and interface directly with SAP as required for product support/questions.

Educational & Experience Requirements:

Requires a BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent, as well as SAP and Cloud Certification. Normally requires a minimum of ten (10) years directly related and progressively responsible experience in leading architecture design and implementation. Must have experience with multiple SAP implementation lifecycles and production SAP infrastructure operations. Requires experience in leading teams and building relationships with people at a variety of levels. Requires demonstrated ability to launch and deliver a single IT project on time and within budget.

Minimum Skills & Experience Requirements:

  • Hands on experience for SAP Basis tasks with S/4 migration experience - required

  • Demonstrated ability to formulate and execute business strategies to exceed operational expectations and further enhance the customer experience.

  • Deep understanding of business strategy and ability to translate strategy into system and technology solutions.

  • Demonstrated hands on experience working in large-scale environments and tweaking business processes to support growth and productivity

  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, able to take calculated risk and seeks continuous improvement

  • Demonstrated ability in building a successful organization and experience delivering results via improved customer satisfaction, lower production costs and high levels of employee engagement

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; ability to communicate with customers, associates and management; solid teamwork and interpersonal skills

  • Strong presentation skills: ability to present and discuss strategies and technical information in a manner that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding

  • Ability to establish solid relationships with vendors in support of initiatives; ability to negotiate and manage outside vendors against deliverables.

  • Knowledge of key technology standards around ITIL and service delivery

  • Deep knowledge of one or more Databases such as Oracle, HANA, MSSQL, Postgres

  • Strong Infrastructure Knowledge for Compute, Network, Storage, Security.

  • Knowledge of various Compute platforms such as VMWare, Kubernetes (AKS, OCP, Tanzu.), Docker, and Appliances such as Oracle Exadata and SAP HANA (by various h/w vendors)

  • Good understanding of SLES and RHEL and ability to architect HA setup involving Linux Pacemaker and similar supported HA solutions for SAP HANA DB and SAP Central Services

  • Understanding of SAP Networking requirements involving, External and Internal connectivity to SAP and other applications using Proxy, Load Balancer, Application g/w, creating requests to get Firewall rules and NSG rules needed by the application.

  • Monitoring of SAP and 3rd party solutions using SAP Solution Manager, SAP LVM, New Relic APM, Azure monitor for SAP.

  • Good knowledge of IT security products to harden OS, Storage, Network, Database, SAP, and different resources in Azure.

  • Good hands-on experience with Unix shell scripting and familiarity with Python, Automation tools such as Ansible AWX/Tower, Terraform, DevOps tools such as Nexus, Bitbucket, GitHub, Jira, Jenkins.

  • Knowledge of Data Streaming products such as Kafka, Confluent Platform, Azure EventHub, Azure Streaming Analytics, Azure Synapse, Databricks.

  • Create Architecture diagrams, HLD, LLD and document the overall solution

  • Costing of Solutions using Azure Pricing calculator and other tools, understanding of various aspects of IaaS and PaaS to help with computing optimum cost for the proposed solution andn Cost optimization for existing environment.

  • Good communication skills, Ability to work in a team and work flexible hours to support engagements in different time zones.
