Charter Research is a highly experienced and rapidly growing clinical research company based in Florida and Illinois. We are looking to expand our team to help fulfill our mission of discovering future medicines. Our privately owned company prides itself on providing exceptional patient experiences and offering agile recruitment strategies to our sponsors. We are a team-oriented organization seeking the right team member to join our foundation in Orlando.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Director of Client Services is responsible for business development, budgets & contracts, and study startup, from initial lead generation through First Patient First Visit (FPFV). This role drives company growth by ensuring the availability of study opportunities and diversifying our study portfolio. The Senior Director collaborates with leadership on business strategy and may lead clinic growth initiatives to support recruitment and operational success.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Develop and maintain extensive knowledge of the clinical research industry, current indications, and future development areas.
  2. Build and sustain deep client relationships with sponsors, CROs, and external consultants, maintaining professional communication.
  3. Drive growth by securing and maximizing Clinical Trial Agreements (CTAs) aligned with company strategies to diversify and expand the study portfolio.
  4. Support development of study portfolios tailored to each site’s capabilities, demographics, and past performance.
  5. Oversee study startup processes to ensure quick, smooth initiation of clinical trials in coordination with all departments.
  6. Monitor study performance, identify potential risks, and assist in developing mitigation plans.
  7. Work with leadership on business strategies, aligning development and startup processes.
  8. Lead or support clinic growth initiatives to enhance recruitment and operational deliverables.
  9. Perform additional duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise team members according to organizational policies and laws, including hiring, training, performance appraisal, coaching, and problem resolution. Responsible for overall department direction and evaluation.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  1. Deep knowledge of clinical research and drug development processes, advising on best practices for sponsors, sites, and CROs.
  2. Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of representing the company professionally.
  3. Ability to develop and manage relationships with high-level contacts.
  4. High personal integrity.
  5. Experience in marketing and sales principles.
  6. Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects.
  7. Collaborative team player with initiative and drive.
  8. Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Relevant advanced degree preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5+ years in clinical research, especially in business development, study startup, or project management.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged standing and walking.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
