Job summary

Gallagher Services, a Catholic Charities program in Sparks Glencoe, MD, is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for a Monday–Friday 11 AM–7 PM schedule. The role includes assisting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, promoting independence, and building meaningful relationships.

You will support daily living activities, prepare meals, and help with personal care while advocating for clients’ rights and dignity. A valid license and ability to lift 75 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• Provide daily living support including bathing, dressing and personal care while promoting dignity and independence.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience and no more than 3 points.
• Completion of Medication Technician Training Program (or willingness to complete).
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and assist people who use wheelchairs; stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily routines; bathing, dressing and personal care to promote dignity and independence.
• Prepare nutritious meals and support healthy living.
• Engage individuals in activities such as parks, arts and crafts, movies, and shopping.
• Maintain clear, respectful records to ensure continuity of care.

PAY RANGE: $21.00 - $21.50 per hour (Depending on years of experience and certifications)

We are seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) who values people for who they are and is excited to walk alongside adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they engage in the activities they love and pursue their goals.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 11 AM - 7 PM

A Day in the Life:

• Going to the Park and walking trails
• Doing Arts and Crafts
• Going to the movies
• Going Shopping

How You’ll Support:

• Help by cooking nutritional meals

• Keep clear, respectful records to ensure continuity of care and support

• Comfortable driving agency vehicles and assisting people who use wheelchairs
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds, stand for long periods, and provide physical assistance when needed
• Completion of Medication Technician Training Program (or willingness to complete)
