Job summary

Baptist Health South Florida Foundation seeks a Sr Development Director to lead a comprehensive philanthropy program focused on major gifts. You will design and implement strategies to secure gifts and manage donor relationships across a large portfolio.

The role targets ambitious fundraising goals, including a personal portfolio of high-value prospects and a team-wide campaign direction, with a strong emphasis on donor stewardship and impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience in a major gifts program.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design, implementation, and ongoing management of a comprehensive philanthropy program with emphasis on major gifts.
• Develop and maintain donor relationships to achieve personal and team fundraising goals ($2M-$4M personal, $2M-$5M team).
• Lead prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship across individual, foundation, and corporate donors.

The Sr. Development Director/ Major Gifts Officer is responsible, in partnership with their assigned AVP/ Chief Development Officer, for overseeing the development, design, and execution of all aspects of a comprehensive and on-going philanthropy program with an emphasis on major gifts. The Foundation is engaged in a $600M campaign, which will require ability to achieve significant personal and team dollar goals. The position is responsible for designing, implementing and sustaining a successful fund-raising program, including individual and major gifts, planned giving, endowments, donor upgrading, corporate and foundation gifts, special event sponsorships and enhancing community awareness the Foundation with specific emphasis on assigned hospitals and/or Institutes. The Sr. Development Director will solicit donations and cultivate relationships with donors in order to develop, secure, upgrade and maintain major and principal gifts for the present and long term financial support of the system. The Sr. Director will carry a personal goal of $2M - $4M and a Team goal of $2M - $5M on average. The personal portfolio of will range for 144 active prospects with a total of 352 active and in stewardship. Estimated salary range for this position is $132531.50 - $172290.95 / year depending on experience.

• A Bachelors degree is required and a Master degree is preferred with a minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in a successful foundation major gifts program, fund-raising or marketing/sales leadership.

• Experience in identifying, cultivating, soliciting and providing stewardship for major gifts from individuals, foundations and corporations.
• Experience in managing major components of effective development program and proven manager of fundraising teams.
