Job summary

Jobot is partnering with an established services company to build a new software platform to review invoices and automate processes. We’re seeking a Senior Design Engineer to be the first dedicated internal designer, shaping UX direction and a growing design system.

You’ll collaborate with product, engineering, and leaders to translate complex workflows into intuitive experiences, run discovery and prototyping, and contribute to implementation, with remote work available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Design, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a similar role with a strong portfolio.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and Ruby on Rails.
• Experience with UX design best practices, mobile-first and responsive design.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum development.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Play a pivotal role in the design, development, and implementation of our tech services, ensuring they are user-friendly, effective, and appealing.
• Work closely with our product management and engineering teams to define and implement innovative solutions for product direction, visuals, and experience.
• Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering.
• Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user-friendliness to complex design roadblocks.
• Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
• Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback to enhance and polish the design.
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to achieve the best possible design solutions.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest web design trends, techniques, and technologies.

We’re seeking a Design Engineer to become the company’s first dedicated internal design hire. This senior-to-staff-level individual contributor will have significant influence over product direction, user experience, and a growing design system.

You’ll partner with business leaders, internal users, product management, and engineers to turn complex workflows into intuitive experiences. Your work will span discovery, prototyping, and implementation, using AI tools to help create working interfaces and reusable components.
