Everforth Apex Systems is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer in McLean, VA (Hybrid) to design and implement high-performance data pipelines and ownership of data domains. The role focuses on scalable architectures for a secure global network and observability.

You will build production pipelines, ensure data quality, and collaborate with engineers and analysts to extend platforms into new consumer domains, while maintaining reliability through monitoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field is preferred.
• 6+ years of dedicated data engineering experience with distributed data processing and scalable pipelines.
• Proficiency in PySpark, AWS Glue, Snowflake, Databricks, and SQL; solid knowledge of AWS data services, S3 data lakes and relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Design and construct brand-new production data pipelines to handle large volumes of distributed data.
• Ensure data integrity across pipeline architectures with advanced quality checks and data lineage.
• Own individual data domains and deliver reliable data engineering solutions independently.

Role Overview

An established organization is seeking a skilled professional to design and implement high-performance, production-grade data pipelines. This role supports a newly formed engineering team tasked with building scalable architectures to integrate key capabilities into a secure global network. The successful candidate will assume ownership of distinct data domains, creating modern pipelines to drive data processing and observability forward.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and construct brand-new production data pipelines to handle large volumes of distributed data.
• Ensure data integrity across pipeline architectures by implementing advanced quality checks and data lineage tracking.
• Take ownership of individual data domains and deliver reliable data engineering solutions independently.
• Set up robust pipeline monitoring, alerting, and observability dashboards to maintain high system reliability.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team of engineers and analysts to extend data platforms into new consumer domains.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field is preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 6 years of dedicated data engineering experience, specifically focused on distributed data processing and scalable pipelines.

Technical Skills: Proven proficiency in PySpark, AWS Glue, Snowflake, Databricks, and SQL, alongside solid foundational knowledge of AWS data engineering services, S3-based lakes, and relational databases.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working within the financial services sector.
• Hands-on experience with low-latency streaming and real-time processing tools such as Kinesis or Kafka.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices for data pipelines and Infrastructure as Code.
