Sammons Industrial in the Dallas–Fort Worth area is seeking a Sr. Controls/Automation Engineer to lead the controls engineering for complex automation projects. You will design architectures, program PLC/HMI, commission systems, and guide teams on go-lives at customer sites.

The role requires 7+ years in controls, a BS in Electrical Engineering, proficiency with Allen-Bradley PLCs and AutoCAD, plus experience with WCS/WES/WMS. Travel up to 25% and on-site work at Mansfield, TX are standard.

• 7+ years in controls engineering, ideally in conveyors, material handling, or warehouse automation.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

• Experience with WCS, WES, or WMS is a plus.

Proficiency with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMI systems, and AutoCAD, along with experience in barcode scanning, high-speed sortation, scales, labeling systems, and industrial electrical and safety standards. Familiarity with WCS, WES, or WMS is a plus.A leader's mindset with a hands-on approach. The ability to guide engineers, evaluate third-party automation solutions, manage technical risk, and communicate clearly with customers and cross-functional teams. You’re equally comfortable leading a technical discussion and rolling up your sleeves to solve a problem.A commitment to being where the work happens. You live in the greater Dallas–Fort Worth area and are comfortable working regularly at our customer site in Mansfield, TX with flexibility as projects require.
