Job summary

Textron Systems is seeking a Sr. Contracts Assistant to perform complex administrative tasks for government, commercial and international contracts under limited supervision.

You will gather data, track deliverables, review documents for accuracy, maintain contract files, update SAM, and support audits and process improvements. The role requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Qualifications

  • Experience with government contracts and related policies is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines while handling sensitive data.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and data/reporting tools.

  • Review incoming contract documents for accuracy and route for approvals; enter data into corporate systems.
  • Update System for Award Management (SAM) for all business lines and site locations.

  • Support process improvement initiatives from inception to execution.
  • Assist audit teams and government inquiries by coordinating responses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

About This Role

Under limited supervision, performs complex and diverse administrative tasks for contracts associated with government, commercial and international customers. In performing this role, the Sr. Contracts Assistant will:

  • Gather data, maintain logs, and prepare reports for both internal and external customers
  • Ensure contract deliverables are accurately tracked and reported
  • Review incoming contract documents for accuracy and completeness, prepares and routes documents for approvals, enters approved data into the corporate database, and maintains accurate and complete contract files, databases, and records
  • Update and maintain System for Award Management (SAM) for all Business Lines and site locations.
  • Schedules and coordinates internal and external meetings and training seminars
  • Supports process improvement initiatives through inception to execution
  • Support audit teams and government inquiries by coordinating and preparing responses
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Experience in administrative tasks related to business operations, customer relations, process improvements and/or cost analysis
  • Familiarity with Government Contracts a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with others, and a team player
  • Strong oral/written communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple work assignments and meet critical deadlines, while protecting sensitive company data
  • Able to work independently and utilize research techniques to resolve issues, recognize potential and existing problems and challenges, and make timely decisions to ensure their resolution.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint with ability to utilize software applications to develop automated reports, metrics and templates/checklists. Proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint a plus
  • This position requires an individual to be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance
Required Experience
  • AA, BA, or BS degree preferred but not required. 3-5 years of related work experience will be considered in lieu of degree
  • Previous experience in administering government contracts including knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations and Contracts policies a plus
  • Experience with Oracle software applications or other ERP systems preferred.
  • Experience with process improvement initiatives
