Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

We are partnering with an A+ rated carrier with outstanding financial strength, substantial capacity, and a strong Treasury Listing that allows them to support contractors on projects north of $500 million and participate in larger co-surety programs.

We are searching for a Senior Contract Surety Underwriter who wants to be part of an organization with stable executive leadership, strong underwriting discipline, and continued investment in the long-term success of its contract surety platform.

The ideal candidate will bring a disciplined underwriting approach, strong financial analysis skills, and the ability to evaluate contractor risk across mid-to-large size contract surety accounts. This person will be responsible for managing and developing a profitable book of contract surety business while working closely with agency partners, contractors, and internal leadership.

This role would be a strong fit for a Contract Surety Underwriter located in Atlanta, GA, Charlotte, NC, Tampa, FL, or the surrounding Southeast region who believes disciplined underwriting, strong agency relationships, and long-term profitability create the best possible outcome for the carrier, agency partners, and contractors.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• 6+ years of contract surety underwriting experience

• Strong understanding of contractor financial analysis, balance sheets, income statements, cash flow, WIP reports, and backlog
• Existing agency and broker relationships within the Southeast territory preferred
• Ability to develop and maintain profitable agency relationships
• Strong underwriting judgment with the ability to balance production goals and profitability
• Comfortable working with contractors, agents, brokers, and internal leadership
