Polikov Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Senior Contract Surety Underwriter to join a financially strong, well-respected surety operation in the Southeast. The role focuses on underwriting substantial contract surety accounts, analyzing contractor finances, and building durable agency relationships with agents and brokers.

The successful candidate will manage a profitable book, evaluate risk, and align with leadership on growth strategies across Atlanta, GA and surrounding states.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of contract surety underwriting experience.
• Experience underwriting mid-to-large size contract surety accounts.
• Strong understanding of contractor financial analysis, balance sheets, income statements, cash flow, WIP reports, and backlog.
• Existing agency and broker relationships within the Southeast territory preferred.
• Ability to develop and maintain profitable agency relationships.
• Strong underwriting judgment with the ability to balance production goals and profitability.
• Comfortable working with contractors, agents, brokers, and internal leadership.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite, analyze, and manage contract surety accounts within assigned authority.
• Evaluate contractor financial statements, work-in-progress schedules, backlog, bank lines, ownership structure, and overall operational strength.
• Make sound underwriting decisions around risk selection, pricing, account retention, and profitability.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with agents, brokers, contractors, and other key market partners.
• Develop new business opportunities while continuing to retain and grow an existing book of contract surety business.
