Job summary

Polikov Recruitment Solutions seeks a Senior Contract Surety Underwriter to join a disciplined, profitability-focused team in the Southeast. You will underwrite, analyze financials, and manage broker relationships to grow a profitable book of contract surety business.

You will evaluate contractor finances, WIP reports, backlog, and ownership structures, collaborating with agents and leadership to support large projects in the Southeast region.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of contract surety underwriting experience.
• Experience underwriting mid-to-large size contract surety accounts.
• Strong understanding of contractor financial analysis, balance sheets, income statements, cash flow, WIP reports, and backlog.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite, analyze, and manage contract surety accounts within assigned authority
• Evaluate contractor financial statements, work-in-progress schedules, backlog, bank lines, ownership structure, and overall operational strength
• Make sound underwriting decisions around risk selection, pricing, account retention, and profitability
• Build and maintain strong relationships with agents, brokers, contractors, and other key market partners
• Develop new business opportunities while continuing to retain and grow an existing book of contract surety business
