We are seeking a Senior Contract Surety Underwriter who values disciplined underwriting, strong agency relationships, and long-term profitability, with opportunities across the Southeast region including Tampa, FL.

Qualifications

6+ years of contract surety underwriting experience.
Experience underwriting mid-to-large size contract surety accounts.
Strong understanding of contractor financial analysis, balance sheets, income statements, cash flow, WIP reports, and backlog.

Responsibilities

Underwrite, analyze, and manage contract surety accounts within assigned authority.
Evaluate contractor financial statements, work-in-progress schedules, backlog, bank lines, ownership structure, and overall operational strength.
Make sound underwriting decisions around risk selection, pricing, account retention, and profitability.
Build and maintain strong relationships with agents, brokers, contractors, and other key market partners.
Develop new business opportunities while continuing to retain and grow an existing book of contract surety business.
