You will mentor junior PMs, support proposals, and coordinate RFIs/submittals while maintaining strong client and stakeholder communication. Travel about 50% is expected, with remote work arrangements where feasible.
- Support the launch of federal construction projects, ensuring alignment with contract requirements, customer expectations, project objectives, and established delivery standards.
- Assist with baseline schedule development, subcontractor onboarding, risk assessments, mobilization planning, and project controls implementation.
- Develop and improve project startup resources, including project management playbooks, workflows, documentation templates, and standard operating procedures.
- Provide stabilization and hands-on management support during the early stages of project execution to help teams establish effective processes and maintain momentum.
- Lead or support the implementation and configuration of construction management platforms such as Procore, including project setup, document management, workflow development, reporting dashboards, training, and compliance.
- Contribute to proposal development through technical narratives, project schedules, execution strategies, and staffing plans.
- Support pre-construction activities, including constructability reviews, design coordination, long-lead procurement planning, and early construction sequencing for Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build projects.
- Prepare pre-award documentation and transition-to-execution deliverables to support an effective handoff from proposal development to project operations.
- Strengthen program management practices by standardizing governance processes, documentation workflows, project controls, and delivery procedures.
- Provide technical expertise in design interpretation, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) coordination, scheduling, risk management, and federal construction project controls.
- Develop and maintain internal project management resources, onboarding guides, training materials, templates, and standard operating procedures tailored to federal construction projects.
- Mentor junior and mid-level project managers, helping improve their readiness, technical capabilities, and project delivery performance.
- Provide temporary project management coverage during peak workloads, staffing transitions, or overlapping project mobilizations.
- Maintain project continuity by coordinating schedules, subcontractors, documentation, and customer communications while managing day-to-day workflows such as requests for information (RFIs), submittals, change events, and reporting.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve issues, maintain project visibility, and support timely, high-quality delivery.
- At least 10 years of project or program management experience in federal construction, ideally including MEP-intensive projects or secure facility environments.
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in project startup, pre-construction planning, risk management, subcontractor integration, schedule development, and project controls.
- Hands-on experience configuring and implementing Procore, developing workflows, supporting users, and delivering system training.
- Experience contributing to construction proposals, technical narratives, execution strategies, and pre-construction planning activities.
- Strong understanding of Design-Build (DB) and Design-Bid-Build (DBB) delivery methods and their associated coordination requirements.
- Knowledge of federal construction requirements, documentation standards, compliance expectations, and project delivery practices.
- The ability to work independently in an on-call consulting capacity while supporting multiple programs and adapting to changing priorities.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify risks, improve processes, and maintain project continuity.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor colleagues, develop practical project management resources, and collaborate effectively with project teams and subcontractors.
