Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Analysis: The Sr. Compensation Analyst will serve as the primary source for identifying relevant market data and incumbent analyses for daily work and larger projects. Responsibilities include evaluating and ensuring salary survey submissions, data receipt, and online storage of the University’s survey library. Maintaining key scope measures and peer group listings is also part of this role.
- Design: Under the oversight of the Manager of Compensation, this role will assist in program analysis, design proposals, and presentations related to pay and rewards programs, from planning to formal rollout.
- Projects: The Sr. Compensation Analyst plays a key role in process and program-related projects such as job architecture and ERP implementation. This includes assisting in planning and implementation, and potentially leading small to mid-sized projects under the Manager’s supervision.
- Education and Collaboration: The role is expected to act as a key ambassador for HR/Compensation within the University, reinforcing compensation principles and fostering strong partnerships with HR peers and departmental managers.
- Administration: Ensures the administration of compensation and staff rewards programs, including daily analysis, annual merit processes, and cyclical market pricing of staff roles.
Minimum Education and Work Experience
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- At least 7 years of experience in mid-complexity compensation analysis within a consultative service model.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant compensation analysis experience.
- In-depth knowledge of higher education compensation practices, including familiarity with academic and administrative roles.
- Bachelor's Degree required; Master’s in Business, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
- CCP certification or progress towards it.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, including pivot tables, v-lookups, data sorting/filtering, and advanced skills like complex formulas, data validation, conditional formatting, and dashboards.
- Experience in project participation, compensation administration, analysis, and design.
- Strong communication skills, with attention to detail, clarity, and negotiation ability.
Certificates/Credentials/Licenses
- CCP or progress towards certification.
Computer Skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel, including advanced features as listed above.

No supervisory responsibilities.
Operational Requirements
No operation of university-owned vehicles required.

Salary Range
Minimum: $90,000/year; Maximum: $100,000/year.
