Job summary

Ohio State University is seeking a Sr. Clinical Apps Analyst to lead planning, design, and evaluation of integrated clinical information systems that enhance patient outcomes.

You will coordinate new and existing applications, perform analyses, and design detailed specifications for clinical environments, while supporting end-user training and change management. The role requires collaboration with the Revenue Cycle IHIS Build Team and a strong background in clinical operations and IT

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Healthcare, Nursing, Pharmacy, or Allied Health and 4 years of IT experience.
• Experience with clinical operations and/or clinical area preferred.
• Knowledge of clinical workflows and IT system integration.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, develop, implement, and evaluate integrated clinical information systems supporting clinical practice, admin and patient outcomes.
• Coordinate and provide support for new and current applications and software upgrades to clinical systems.
• Analyze, design, test, and implement complex clinical information systems and solutions.
• Prepare detailed specifications and assess the clinical environment to identify implications for system implementations.
• Facilitate changes in the clinical environment related to system implementations and advise end-user training.

Job Description

Serves as the primary contributor and consultant for patient care services in the planning, design, development, implementation, functionality, and evaluation of integrated clinical information systems that support and enhance clinical practice, administrative and management needs, and patient outcomes.

Acts as the principal resource with clinical knowledge and computer expertise to coordinate and provide support for all new and current applications and software upgrades applicable to clinical systems. Responsible for the analysis, design, testing, and implementation of complex clinical information systems and solutions. Prepares detailed specifications and conducts assessments of the clinical environment to identify implications for system implementations.

Acts as a facilitator for changes within the clinical environment related to system implementations. Advises end-user training on clinical applications to ensure understanding of system functionality and supports the development and design of training programs.

Minimum Qualifications

• A college degree in Computer Science, Healthcare, Nursing, Pharmacy, or Allied Health and 4 years of experience in Information Technology, preferably within Clinical Operations, and/or a clinical area, with a preference for candidates who possess a combination of both clinical and information technology experience.
• Knowledge of systems implementation, including analysis, specification design, and implementation. Demonstrated understanding of clinical workflows, technology solutions, and the integration of information systems to support operational and patient care objectives.
