Job summary

Aptara in Oakland is seeking a Business Performance Analyst to create weekly and monthly performance metrics, dashboards, and streamline reporting for the Materials organization. The role will evolve to lead clients from basic BI to forward-looking insights using predictive tools.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, gather data, analyze root causes, and implement improvements. Travel up to 20% is expected; hybrid on-site ~4 times a month in Oakland.

Qualifications

• 5 years relevant business experience.
• BA/BS in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Computer Science/Information.
• Advanced Microsoft BI stack including Power Pivot, Power View, Power BI, Power Platform, and Power Automate.
• Experience with metrics/dashboard creation and data visualization using Power BI.
• Experience with data stored across multiple databases/data sources.
• MBA or other advanced degrees.
• Advanced statistical, modeling, and process improvement knowledge.
• Advanced reporting knowledge with multiple reporting tools.

W2 hourly pay rate $67 per hour plus benefits

Position Summary

The Business Performance Analyst’s primary function will create weekly / monthly performance metrics, dashboards, and streamline reporting of results for the Materials organization. The Business Performance Analyst will implement and maintain custom data and analytic reporting to provide insight into and facilitate day-to-day operations. You will evolve the role to lead clients from simple, pre-existing business intelligence solutions to forward-looking "what's next" capabilities using more advanced predictive and prescriptive tools. The successful candidate will work across functional teams and partner with peers and leaders on process change implementation and ongoing measurement and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates the development of weekly and monthly metrics reporting related to organizational performance
• Collects data to identify root cause of problems on performances and implements solutions for improvements
• Aligns improvement to performance shortfalls. Surveys and analyzes best practices for techniques, processes, and implementation
• Determines data needs, collects data, selects from different analytical techniques to conduct root cause analysis, determine issues designs and maintains operational tools and reports
• Projects are moderately to highly complex and require selecting methods, approaches, and tactics to resolve problems and obtain solutions
• Creates analysis that accurately describes the state of the business
• Creates complex and automated data routines and processes for reporting and data delivery ensuring accurate data transformation
• Design data analysis to achieve business objectives, process data, analyze data, write clear and concise data findings using power queries and power BI reporting
• Applies judgment solve problems of diverse scope
• Typically receives general instructions on new assignments or projects. Receives little instruction on recurring assignments
• May Assist in coaching and developing less experienced staff and end users
• Understands business process needs and develops solutions
• Travel requirement (up to 20%)

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5 years relevant business experience
• BA/BS in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Computer Science/Information
• Advance in Microsoft BI stack including Power Pivot, Power View, Power BI, Power Platform, and Power Automate
• Experience with metrics/dashboard creation, reporting, and demonstrated experience in data visualization best practices using Power BI
