Job Title: Business Data Analyst II

Location Requirements: Hybrid – Oakland, CA

Job Type: Contract

Role Overview:

You will support data-driven business and revenue initiatives within a large technology organization. This role sits at the intersection of data operations, analytics, program management, and issue resolution. You will monitor large data sets, identify discrepancies, triage data-quality issues, and coordinate with technical and business teams to drive issues through resolution. While this is a Project Manager II position, it is not focused on schedules or budgets, but on data review, issue investigation, and cross-functional collaboration. Candidates with backgrounds as Business Analysts, Data Analysts, Operations Analysts, Program Managers, or Data Operations professionals may also be a strong fit.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and review large data sets and recurring data feeds for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness
• Investigate missing, delayed, mismatched, or incorrectly formatted data and coordinate remediation
• Map incoming data and complex data schemas against established internal standards and requirements
• Follow established playbooks, SOPs, and data-governance processes with a high degree of accuracy
• Partner with engineering, business intelligence, product, finance, legal, and other cross-functional teams to resolve data and operational issues
• Support data requirements for new product and business initiatives, including identifying additional fields, columns, tags, or reporting requirements
• Monitor data trends and proactively identify potential gaps or inconsistencies
• Communicate technical and data-related issues clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Help improve and scale recurring operational and data-management processes
• Support reporting, forecasting, and other business-critical initiatives dependent on accurate data

Required Qualifications:

• 3–6 years of relevant professional experience in project/program management, business analysis, data analysis, operations, finance, or a related field
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience reviewing and analyzing large data sets
• Experience identifying and investigating data discrepancies, trends, gaps, and data-quality issues
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience following established SOPs, playbooks, processes, or data standards
• Strong attention to detail with a high standard for accuracy and consistency
• Experience coordinating work and resolving issues across multiple technical and non-technical teams
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to communicate data findings and technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field
• Ability to work onsite in Oakland, CA three days per week
