Job summary

Spectraforce Technologies is seeking an Operations Data Analyst in Oakland, CA for a hybrid role. This contract position emphasizes dashboards, data governance, and analytics to support operational insights.

You will work with Power BI, SQL, Excel/Access, and SAS in a collaborative environment, delivering accurate reports and actionable recommendations. You will gather requirements, build data models, and help maintain KPI tracking while navigating ambiguity in a dynamic utility-like operations

Qualifications

• BA/BS in marketing, business, CS, eng or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 2 years of related work experience.
• Familiarity with utility operations.
• Excel/Access skills (complex formulas, graphing, VBA).
• SQL queries using Oracle or Business Objects.
• Develop dashboards with Power BI.
• Report metrics and KPIs.
• UNIX shell programming (csh, awk, sed, vi).
• Base SAS and VB/Perl/C programming knowledge.
• Able to analyze and interpret data and communicate findings.

Operations Data Analyst

4+ months

Oakland, CA (Hybrid - 3 days onsite per week or more)

Local candidates only. OGO or Sacramento region is preferred. Up to 3 days per week in office, with potentially 1 day per week in OGO required for certain weeks



TOP THINGS: Power platform skills will be our focus (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, etc.) with scope ranging from requirements gathering to building to optimizing to maintaining

EQUIPMENT: Client laptop will be provided. If there is a backlog, vendor to provide a laptop or utilize a personal device with Citrix until the laptop is available. Any other equipment must be vendor-provided or utilize personal.

* Manage standard, routine data analysis projects with limited supervision from initial request to presenting data results ensuring that the project is completed within budget and on-time.

* Work with other Data Management Analysts to process data, analyze data and report findings. Creates automated data routines and processes for reporting and data delivery ensuring accurate data manipulation and data cleansing.

* Manages standard data extracts and list pulls ensuring accurate data. Transfers the data from databases to various analysts to support operational analysis efforts.

* Demonstrates full understanding of data processing and analysis techniques. Analyzes data using various statistical tools to develop ad hoc reports, statistics, trends and profiles.

* Develops and communicates clear, concise and actionable data analyses for clients.



Education Minimum:

* BA/BS Degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, Engineering or other related field or equivalent work experience

Minimum Experience:

* 2 years of related work experience



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Desired)

* Familiarity with utility operations.

* Skilled in Microsoft Excel/Access (complex formulas, graphing, VBA)

* Skilled writing SQL queries using Oracle or Business Objects

* Skilled developing dashboards (PowerBi)

* Skilled developing and reporting metrics and KPIs

* Experience in UNIX shell programming (csh, awk, sed, vi).

* Knowledge of base-SAS and programming language such as Visual Basic, Perl, C

* Able to analyze and interpret data and effectively communicate findings.
